District 27 and USPS National Awards
Charlotte Power Squadron has made significant contributions over the years at both the District 27 and National levels. These two organizations often recognize our squadron and certain members for their contributions. This page highlights only some of these accolades.

District 27 Awards
Charlotte Power Squadron is a member of D27, which consists of 13 different active squadrons across North and South Carolina; member squadrons peaked at 20 in the early 2000's. Squadrons are recognized annually for their service contributions.
Co-Operative Charting
Annually, the National Cooperative Charting Committee presents the national GOLDEN EAGLE award to the district Cooperative Charting chairman who has best prepared his or her district during the year for current and future excellence in Cooperative Charting.

Charlotte Power Squadron members serve in several National roles. The squadron is also recognized annually for their service contributions that impact USPS overall.
Publications
Communications is a key component of a successful squadron. The national Communications Committee recognizes squadrons with excellent newsletters. Charlotte has received this award consistently since its inception.

Getting boating safety messaging out to members and to the general public is an important part of communications. The national Communications Committee recognizes squadrons with excellent websites. Charlotte has received this award consistently since its inception and creation of our first website.

Co-Operative Charting
Our relationship over the years with NOAA, the US Coast Guard, Corp of Engineers, the Geodetic Survey, and Cruisersnet.net helps the squadron provide invaluable information to these organizations to keep information accurate for the recreational boater. Awards are given for participation in this program at both the squadron and individual levels. Information below indicates the years recognized and the national ranking.
