Activities

We have two annual BBQ's in the fall and spring at our fantastic facility on Lake Wylie. Great food, great location, great people. 

This is our way to make sure NC and SC boaters have the education they need to meet legislated education requirements as well as put more educated boaters on our waters. Sign up!!

Think "road rally on the water." Receive directions on an assigned course, plot how you will run it, turn in your predicitions, run the course, and see how you do. This is a competition against yourself and other boaters from our squadron as well as another. 

Working with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, we perform free Vessel Safety Checks at various locations throughout the year to make sure boaters have all the required equipment aboard for a safe day on the water. Sign up!!

We hold membership meetings at least 7 months a year. This a chance to see all your friends, catch up on developments at the squadron, district and national levels, hear from speakers on topics relevant to our waterways, enjoy a meal and just have fun. 

For over 60 years, we have hosted an outing on Lake Wylie for 300+ children in care, orphans, after school programs, police athletic leagues and the like. This is a day for a picnic, boat rides on the lake, swimming, and hobnobbing with local sports team mascots. 

We've started a new team-oriented activity that allows folks to enjoy a day on the water and row in a team on boats specifically built by our membership. We are also adding a kayak launch to our Merit Mark Point facilities. 

This fun event on the water allows members not that familiar with the lake to find predetermined sites and attractions based on directions, record their results, and compete against others for prizes. A great way to learn the lake. 

We work with other organizations to clean up the lake and shorelines to preserve the safety and beauty of our waterways.
